Changwon City (Mayor Heo Sung-moo) announced on the 27th that it has signed a "MOU" with Samhyun and Samwoo Metal Industries, the region's leading small and medium-sized companies, and BWK, a new start-up company in Changwon. The city expects that the investment attraction of these three companies will revitalize the sluggish Changwon economy with 63.8 billion won worth of new investment and 112 new employees.
Samwoo Metal Industries (Chairman Bang Hyo-cheol) is a representative defense company in Changwon, and is one of the few companies in Korea that can perform precision processing, metal surface treatment, and painting at once. It is also a company with a long history of being selected as a long-lived company by the Small and Medium Business Administration in 2017, including the Gyeongnam Small and Medium Business Awards (Small and Medium Business Administration), the Gold Tower Industrial Medal (President), and the CEO of the Year (Changwon Market). As of 2019, only 12 prestigious long-term companies have been selected nationwide.

The PE coating technology is eco-friendly because it does not contain harmful substances such as dioxin and does not produce industrial waste or toxic substances in the production process, has excellent waterproof, insulating, and shock absorption, and is competitive compared to other coating methods.
BWK is planning to establish a PE coating plant in Jukgok-dong, Jinhae-gu, Changwon, and plans to invest about KRW 16.1 billion by 2020 and hire 37 new employees.
The PE coating industry is a blue ocean market dominated by two domestic companies, and PE coating is expected to continue to grow in the future due to its diverse product application fields and high domestic and foreign demand.
The city plans to actively provide related administrative and financial support by operating an active administrative TF team for investment realization to create employment and economic ripple effects through rapid investment realization of companies that signed this investment agreement.
